I love this talk by Elizabeth Gilbert entitled A Different Way To Think About Creative Genius. It really resonates with me, not because I have encountered the kind of success that Elizabeth Gilbert has, but what she says about fear-based reactions when looking at embarking on a creative career and the creative process. I have definitely felt crushed by the fear of failure so perhaps I should take her advice and say to my genius, "hey, at least I showed up for work".
Check it out.
